Every node needs to connect to peers to receive new blocks and transactions. Without any privacy layer, those connections reveal your IP address to anyone paying attention — which can be linked back to your general location and, over time, to specific wallet activity.

Tor routes your node's connections through a series of relays so that no single point on the path knows both who you are and what you're doing. Your node still fully verifies everything itself; Tor just changes how it talks to the network, not what it trusts.

We route node traffic over Tor by default on every setup, along with the option to run hidden services so your node can be reached privately without exposing your home network to the public internet.
